BETH JOURNEAY, IOM, PCED

Vice-Chair Education

After twenty-one years as the President & CEO Beth has been known for saying “I have never had so much fun working so hard!” Transitioning from workforce development made the chamber profession a natural fit for Beth. She and her staff grew the chamber in numbers and dollars from $98,000 to over one million in net assets by working every day to know and provide tools for success for both the chamber and every investor.

Beth has served as Chair of the Board for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), Center for Chamber of Commerce Executives (CCCE), Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce Executives (GCCE) and the Association of Texas Leadership Programs (ATLP).  She is a graduate of the U S Chamber Institute for Organization Management earning her IOM designation. She also completed Community Development Institute earning the PCED (Professional Community and Economic Development) designation. She has found her passion and loves learning and sharing with others in the profession.

Beth has been married to Tommy Journeay for the past forty-four years. Tommy is a first generation farmer/rancher and their favorite pastime is to escape to the ranch and spend time with the cows.  They have two wonderful children who have contributed two awesome spouses to the count along with the four most AMAZING grandchildren ever! Tommy and Beth also have a very spoiled Labradoodle named Hank (the cow dog).
